50 feet east from what will soon be the tallest building in Utah stands our state’s premier social enterprise co-working space and community center: Impact HUB Salt Lake. With the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, the HUB is gearing up programming starting next month. P3 Utah is partnering with the HUB for an education series on starting and managing a benefit company in Utah. The HUB3 series kicks off at 3:30 on March 23rd, with a Zoom panel Q&A: Benefit Company How (and Why).
The panel features 3 principals of P3 Utah. Smokey Peck is the P3 Board Chair whose Pro Recycling Group owns several of Utah’s original benefit corporations and benefit LLCs. Keven Stratton Jr, P3 Utah’s Vice Chair, is a Utah County-based attorney who helped lobby for the benefit LLC law and has contributed to benefit company education sessions for both Utah Bar Association and chambers of commerce. P3 Executive Director and HUB member Steve Klass will facilitate the session. Upcoming monthly series topics include: How to Plan and Manage a Benefit Company; Does it Matter: Social Enterprise and L3Cs versus Benefit Companies; No Excuses: Being an Impact Hero in Your Existing Company; and Helpful Policy: State and Local Initiatives to Advance Beneficial Business.
