Better Business-ship

We are watching the flow of significant policy and funding initiatives working their way through the federal government. These actions could boost the positive social and environmental aspects of not just participating businesses but society as a whole. As we wait for infrastructure investments that will improve safety, create jobs, and advance the use of renewable energy, there are important social justice opportunities in development.

One such policy effort underway this spring, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (VRAA), is designed primarily to restore two provisions of the historic 1965 Voting Rights Act that were struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2013. While P3 Utah does not usually take a position on laws impacting personal rights, individual businesses are invited to exercise their freedom to do so. Check out the bill summary. If your company or other companies that you work with are interested in signing-on to a letter to Senator Mitt Romney to support this bill, please contact Richard Eidlin richard@bfa.us by April 19. Richard is a friend of P3 who addressed our annual business sustainability conference in 2015 as co-founder of the American Sustainable Business Council.
